My story (quick version)
I started my teaching career in a classroom full of English Learners.
And honestly… I felt completely overwhelmed. 😫
Not just academically, but socially too. Getting students to participate, share, and feel comfortable speaking? Yeah… that was a struggle.
I kept thinking:
How am I supposed to reach everyone at once?
And spoiler: it wasn’t more worksheets. It wasn’t more planning either. 🙅🏽♀️
What actually worked was building routines that made it easier for students to talk, listen, and connect.
Think simple prompts with predictable structures, and giving students language to respond.
THAT’S when everything shifted.

A little about me
I’ve taught grades 2-4 and will always have a soft spot for upper elementary.
At home, it’s me, my husband, our two cats, Max and Rocky (fully spoiled 😻), and our newest addition… Leo the puppy 🐶 (aka chaos, but we love him lol).
